Here's a few of our girls and Shadow. He's an ornery little goat, but I love him.

This little girl is one of my yearling Kathadin ewes. I'm hoping to have lambs from her and my Dorper ram this next year.

Cinnamon is one of my two blue eyed Nigerian Dwarf does. She had the little cream colored 1/2 Pygmy buck pictured on my blog last February and I'm hoping for a little doe or two this time.

Here are our breeding boar and gilt, we also have a couple of tiny gilts we're raising for this winter's breeding.

I have so many ideas running around in my head. Things I want to do still, things I want to accomplish.
I would just like to build a 8ft wall around my property and paint the outside of the fence that purple No Trespassing color and become so self sufficient I didn't have to go anywhere to get foods. Make a trip to town just 4 times a year. Wouldn't that be awesome? I've been told I'm anti social.............LOL go figure.
I really hope to grow corn this year that will help me feed the birds I raise for our food and eggs as well as the other animals. Not to mention the little chicks, ducklings, gooslings and turkey poults I sell each summer.
I'll have several bottle babies kids early this year for sell. In Pygmy and Pygmy/Nigerian Dwarf breeds. My two Nigerian Dwarfs both have blue eyes. I'm hoping that the babies have the blue eyes too. After all the bottle babies are sold I'll be selling (for sure) the does and possibily the little buck I have left.
I'll also have several Katahdin/Dorper cross lambs for sale and feeder piglets in late spring and meat rabbit bunnies.
So with those in mind 2011 is looking to shape up to be a very nice year.
I hope that 2011 is for all of my children and friends too. I love you guys and appreciate all you do to help me keep sane the last 2 yrs, 7 months, & 27 days. Not to mention the year before when we were dealing with everything Rocky went thru.

2011 New Year/ New Dreams

Hi all,
We're finally starting to show a profit for all the work we've put into the farm.
I sold several of our kid goats and three lambs the other night with another ram lamb being picked up yesterday.
It was so great to be able to deposit that money into our farm account.

I've decided to concentrate on raising the hair sheep breeds. I have 7 Katahdin ewes, 2 are yearlings, and a gorgeous Dorper ram. I hope to have lambs out of him by this coming spring.
I'm still looking for St. Croix sheep to add those bloodlines to my herd.
I still have a few Toulouse and American Buff geese I would like to sell or trade for Pilgrim geese.

My gilt should be having her piglets in early April so if anyone is interested in great feeder piglets let me know.
I am also planning on going into the large breed dairy goats to start milking for the fresh milk.
A goal is to find a dairy (Jersey) cow that I can hand milk for us to have fresh milk for making butter and cheese as well as wholesome milk for us and the animals.
