Rocky Road Farm

My Goal
My goal to raise quality animals, meat and eggs for both my family and yours.

We'll have chicks, turkey poults, ducklings, goslings, & both eating and hatching eggs. A few adults for the freezer and for breeding.
Also, we'll have Kathadin/Dorper hair lambs, Pygmy and Pygmy/Nigerian Dwarf bottle kids, and possibily a couple of mini &/or full size Nubian kids. Also, Colored New Zealand Rabbits for meat and breeding and Lionhead bunnies for pets.
Full breed heritage hogs and Pot Belly Pigs.
Several people are requesting Pot Belly Pigs for the smaller homesteads.

I will also be putting in a garden this spring to start raising vegetables to can and barter for other vegetables/fruits we could use.
Another goal is to start a fruit orchard for our use and to barter/sell. So keep watching for that in the future.
If there is any type of animal you're looking for email us. We may know of someone who is raising what you're looking for.

2nd day of a new year

We're still on lamb/kid watch, I have two does and two ewes starting to bag up. I have my back-up colostrum, and sav a kid, and sav a lamb ready along with new nipples.
To say the least I'm excited.
Our pet ewe, Matilda (aka Tilly) is also expecting her first lamb. I hope to be there with her when she goes into labor. Matilda's ewes will stay here and any rams will be sold or weathered and put into the freezer.
LOL I'll have to get a second ram just for Matilda's girls if she has alot of them.
After, selling the others, we now have 5 Katahdin ewes, 2 Katahdin yearling ewes, and a Dorper ram, Striker is going to be 3 this spring. We are so proud to have him.
I still have 7 little Pygmy and Nigerian Dwarf ewes, 6 of which are bred and expecting from mid month to mid March, and My Shadow, my Pygmy bottle baby 2 yr old buck.
I have 4 large breed goats and am still looking for a LaMancha buck for them.
My plans are to deliver the Pygmy & Nigerian Dwarf kids, sell them as bottle babies, then sell the does and my little buck and just go with the larger breeds of Nubians, LaManchas, and crossbreeds.
